Mughal-e-Funk [18 Nov]

Submitted by on November 4, 2017 – 12:28 pmNo Comment

Salt Arts is proud to present, as part of our Southasia Series, the Karachi premier of Mughal-e-Funk, certainly the hottest Southasian fusion + funk act around.

Mughal-e-Funk features the multi-talented Kami Paul on drums, Rufus Shahzad on synth and keys and none other than the classically trained contemporary musician Rakae Jamil on sitar. MeF features a range of vocalist who add layers to the sound, creating an experiential multi-dimensional performance. The music of MeF is an interpretation of stories and mysticism of the Mughal Emperors and thier current day influence of art, music, poetry and literature. The incredible artwork representing MeF is credited to artist Suleman Aqeel Khilji.
