An Interview with Upcoming Superstar ‘Mustufa Pervez’

Submitted by on February 10, 2016 – 8:58 pmNo Comment

Have you always been in the music industry?
Nopes. I think it was back in 2008-9 when I started playing the guitar and doing home recordings and eventually did my first proper single in 2010.Mustufa Pervez 1

What is your first memory of being inspired by music?
Watching music videos by 90’s rock bands and thinking how awesome it would be if I could play guitar like that.

When did you realize you could actually do this as a career?
Who doesn’t want to live his life as a Rockstar? 😀

Mustufa Pervez 2What has been the hardest part in getting your music out there?
I personally think Pakistani music is the best but I think apart from Coke Studio, a musicians reach has hit an all time low since most music channels are shutting down and social media just offers too much choice and no quality control so that’s a bit of challenge when you’re trying to register yourself.

How would you classify your music (If you can)?
I like to think of it as Rock / Pop Rock.

Who is your inspiration?
Atif Aslam. Coldplay. Strings. Adele.

Where do you hope to be by 2016?
I would be lying if I said getting into Coke Studio in 2016 isn’t part of my plans ! 😀Mustufa Pervez 3

What’s the best piece of advice you have received?
“It’s YOUR VOICE. Cherish it. Respect it. Nurture it. Challenge it. Stretch it and scream until it’s f**king gone because everyone is blessed with at least that, and who knows how long it will last . . . Who’s to say what’s a good voice, and what’s not a good voice? The Voice? Imagine Bob Dylan sitting there singing ‘Blowin’ in the Wind’ in front of Christina Aguilera.” – Dave Grohl

What advice would you give to other musicians trying to get off the ground?
Be creative, be original. Never be satisfied with yourself. Quality over quantity.

Where can we buy your music?
Buy? My music has always been free and I feel like I’d like to keep it that way. You can download my tracks from http://www.soundcloud.com/mustufapervez or http://www.facebook.com/mustufapervez
